HIERARCHY AND CONTRAST

Hierarchy and Contrast Exercise:

Create 8 monograms using your name and surname initials, exploring hierarchy and contrast through these design parameters:

  1. Width
  2. Stroke weight
  3. Scale
  4. Color (complementary/contrasting)
  5. Hue, saturation, value, opacity
  6. Rotation (angle and orientation—vertical, horizontal, diagonal)
  7. Placement/position
  8. Typeface choice (considering both visual and semiotic aspects)

Create clear hierarchy and contrast between the two letters while balancing negative space and formal composition. Your designs should show a thoughtful visual dialogue between these elements.

Label both your PDF and printed submission with your full name, surname, class, and assignment number.
